Shanghai Tibet Tour

Located in the east of China, Shanghai is a popular tourist destination which attracts thousands of international travelers. Day One: Shanghai Arrival

Flying to Shanghai is the most convenient way for foreigners. When you arrive at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport, our local tour guide will take you to your hotel as soon as possible. If you feel tired, you can have a good rest in your hotel. If you are curious about the surroundings, you can go for a walk outside the hotel, and explore the outside world by yourself.

Day Two: Shanghai Tour

In the morning, our tour guide will wait for you outside of your hotel. You will visit some famous attractions here. Firstly, you will be driven to visit the majestic Shanghai Museum, which is a 4-story building. There are a great number of antiques and traditional items storing in this museum, which is the best way to learn about ancient Chinese history.

Then, in the afternoon, you will visit Yu Garden which was built in the 16th century. In the past, it was used as the home for a government official in Ming Dynasty. If you are interested in taking photos, you should go to Old Street in this garden.

After dinner, the tour guide will take you to visit the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, which you can have a chance to enjoy the stunning night views of Shanghai.

Day Three: Board on the Train

After breakfast, your tour guide will take you to visit the traditional Zhujiajiao Ancient Town and Ke Zhi Garden.

In the afternoon, you will board on the train and head to Tibet, which departs in Shanghai at 20:10, and arrives in Lhasa at 19:44. The whole duration time is about 47 hours and 34 minutes.

Day Four-Five: Lhasa Arrival

You will spend three days on the train. During the long trip, you will have a chance to witness the stunning natural views along Qinghai Tibet Railway, including the snow-capped mountains, boundless grassland, crystal-like lakes, etc. After arriving in Lhasa, our local tour guide will take you to your hotel. You’d better have a rest in order to adapt to the high altitude.

Day Six: Lhasa Tour

This is the first-day tour in Lhasa. In the morning, your tour guide will take you to visit the landmark of Lhasa city – Potala Palace. In the past, it was used as the winter palace for Dalai Lama. Now, it has become a modern museum storing numerous antiques. In the afternoon, you will visit the holiest temple in Tibet – Jokhang Temple, where you can see lots of pious pilgrims doing kora. Finally, you will explore the busy Barkhor street.

Day Seven: Lhasa Tour

Today, you will see two famous attractions in Lhasa, Drepung and Sera Monastery. As one of the“great three” Gelug monasteries of Tibet, Drepung Monastery is worthy of being recommended to you. Next, you will visit the famous Sera Monastery where you can see the hot Buddhism debate.

Day Eight: Lhasa Departure

Today, you will leave Lhasa and board on the flight.
